Virgin Phuket Trip

Phuket trip was sealed with Jetstar at $70/pax inclusive of tax.. ($140 for 2) 

Ping suggested us to tap on Kata serenity, Patong is way too commercialise, crowded and cloudy, but if you are looking at pubbing/clubbing every night then that would be a perfect getaway. Booked our accommodation at Sugar Palm Kata. Everyone, every magazine and online informative web have feature on them.. moreover they are having promo at only $46/night .. ($138 for 3 nights)

Booked Hilton Family Summer Brunch : Live cooking stations with seared US sea scallops or sauteed French duck liver (includes some seafood item), amongst many other delicacies, free bottle of wine per couple price is at THB 990++/person. (THB 1166.-net/person) 

Settled our 4 day car rental (Honda Jazz), with David Car Rent at 3600thb (SGD156, about SGD39/day) from Internet publish rate of 4800thb. From our Jakarta village experience, it would be easier to roam around with a smaller car like Jazz than CRV and Kijang in Kampong areas. David provide pick up service at the airport, so we will be saving on cab fares... Many asked, was it more economical to rent car? Yes, if you are people like me who die-die need to explore the island.. If you are a lazy blanket who loves to "nua" in your resort, well better not...

Here's some lights on transportation charges if you are planning for a trip to Phuket: 

Taxi from Airport to hotel (Kata): 600thb/trip (total 1200thb)

Kata is further away from airport so roughly about 100thb more pricey than patong per trip. Hwee Ping mention that it is better to book transport in advance, as there are chances where you cant get a cab, especially on peak hours or when your hotel is situated in those not so accessible areas. They saw a pair sg couple who almost miss their flight becoz they couldn't get a cab, lucky they managed to hitch a ride with them

Taxi from Kata to Patong/Phuket Town: 350-400/Trip

Other places i wish to stop over: Hilton for brunch at Karon, Big Buddha (out of town) , Famous Two Chef in Kata, On the Rock or Dino Park restaurant in Karon, Cape at Rawai, Patong night market, Northwest beaches of island...

One minus point about The Cathay is they serve so-so Xiao long bao, har kau and siew mai... mini in size and nothing fabulous.. quite disappointing right, especially when these few dishes are the basic of dimsum culture..

Another "wow" dish from the restaurant... Vinegar pig trotter!! The husband first try on 猪脚醋, he didn't enjoy the vinegar, which is a "woohoo" for me.. Shiokness

BTW they serve pretty decent cheechongfan too.. 

Discount deals: 15% off almost all credit card with min purchase of $50 and 30% off dimsum on weekdays.. last order from dimsum was 230pm

Overall Experience: They made us fall in love with dim sum all over again...

My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding (2007)

Have any one watch this on channel 5 before? It is 10 eps of hot young bride married to old rich man, hot bride to super self centered ignorant business man or daughter of reputable family... with wedding budget ranging from 750k to 2 million USD... Yes 2 mio USD for a one night event...  

The one i am watching on TV now was a 19 yr old UNLV student married to a 42 year old construction company business man.. It pay a HUGE PRICE to have a young babe sleeping beside you, their wedding cost $775,000 .. and this is just the beginning of everything..
